Well my extra busy week has turned into a not quite so busy week after all! Addenbrookes 'my chart' pinged me yesterday to tell me the appointment had been cancelled, rebooked for next month, and then offered me an earlier appointment than next month on the same day as they'd cancelled ,( i.e tomorrow), all in the space of 5 mins. šŸ˜µā€šŸ’« The new 'tomorrow' appointment was an hour earlier than my original cancelled one but I clicked yes I'll take it, and for about an hour my app said I was still going tomorrow, but an hour earlier. After that things just went form bad to worse, in that it changed back to the appointment of next month, sadly a date I can't go, and wouldn't let me change or cancel it. Today I spent ages in the queue, and finally got through to someone who sounded like some ones 92 year old gran, who I'd woken from her afternoon nap if I'm honest. After explaining I am meant to go every 4-6 weeks and this appointment tomorrow was already 2 weeks over due, and now the new appointment is another 3 weeks and I cant attend that, she said she'd cancel it and re book for me..... she has.. the app pinged and told me about 2 hours later that my next appointment is now 4th Novā˜¹ļø in actual fact that's 12 weeks from when I last went, so I have in effect, by then have missed a whole check up. I'll be pointing that out when I finally get in to see someone.

The website platform emailed me the reminder that my yearly bill was due this month, and it was a stark reminder that it has actually been a full year since this whole thing started spiralling out of control, and hospitals and cancer became everyday words for me.

In a way it feels much longer, but in others it feels like everything has flown past. I just know Christmas is going to be very emotional remembering the fight of radiotherapy. Those 6 weeks seemed like forever at the time. I have no words right now, all I can say was it was epic! I am still wondering about a cracked tooth I am nursing at the back, and I have a feeling its going to just crumble, or the main part of it fall out. Not being able to find an NHS dentist (obviously) I have given in and registered with a dentist in the most local town to us about 8 miles away. I have told them about the radiotherapy, and they assured me they do have a dental surgeon who works with the practice for extractions etc. I have my first appointment for inspection etc next Friday, and the lady is apparently very nice and patient and called Alex. I explained I am not great around dentists and even more twitchy since having been bolted down by my face to a table, so fingers crossed it wont be a complete disaster. It will be a real kick in teeth ( excuse the pun) not only having to go through pain and fear and then having to pay an enormous amount of money for the privilege 😢😔 I went and had my mammogram today, there's something quite surreal about standing completely naked from the waist up, in a caravan parked in a supermarket car park, listening to people walking past inches away talking about their 3 for 2 offers they just got in Morrisons, whilst having a complete stranger handle your naked breasts more than your own husband has done for over a decade. 😶 The joys of being female .
