Everything seems to be going slowly back to normal..... but not quite đŸ€”

My energy levels are allowing me to be up and about ( if I decide to) and do washing, ironing, take Lottie out the garden etc; At the weekend I even managed to have a sort out of my clothes, be it in stages when my arms got tired, and threw away loads of stuff so everything wasn't all crammed in and the rails of my wardrobes bowing đŸ˜±

The weather has been diabolical all year, basically they said its rained everyday of 2026 so far! I'm downloading plans for ark building off the Internet!

Its valentines day this weekend, although not something that applies to me any longer, but đŸ€·â€â™€ïž and we have a weekend away booked on 20th to a spa break, 2 days and nights set in the middle of the Norfolk countryside staring at fields with a nice lady called Annette popping in to break the boredom to pamper us with essential oils and shoulder and back massages đŸ„°

Food wise, everything seems back on the table, at least pain wise! Taste wise, it still changes from day to day how funky things taste, but at least the salt taste has gone, and has now been superceded by lemony 🍋 đŸ€”

Which is loads better than salt, until you eat certain food which lemon just doesn't go with 😞

Im hoping its all just part of taste buds recovery, and I cant wait for vinegar week, because I'd really enjoy a cheese and pickle sandwich or be able to taste salad cream on salad again!

Im trying to keep positive, and I know, Im probably in the top 5% in terms of recovery speed and side effects reversing, so I should be elated, but in true Mandi style, nothings ever good or fast enough.

I feel so lazy just laying about all the time, but I have to tell myself it won't be forever and whatever Im not doing obviously is getting on fine without me doing it so why get in a tizz about it.

Hoovering is still beyond me! Some of the bedrooms have a different make of carpet which I've never been able to push the hoover over without hurting my shoulder and back, but the others I can usually manage in stages, but I'm out of breath and my arms feel like lead within a couple of minutes so Paul has been demoted to chief house skivvy đŸ€Ł

I got a call from ' the bum dr's' secretary last week, and she's booked me in for my colonoscopy the last week of April, hopefully anything she finds will be removed, tested, and results back before my next PET scan so any light ups can be ruled out as being more or residue cancer. You never know I might get awarded the coveted NED ( no evidence of disease) and get a few months off between hospital appointments đŸ˜±

A couple of my fingers nails that started bleeding underneath during radiotherapy are starting to lift now, so Im doing everything I can to stop them getting worse and fall off. 😕

My hair that fell out at the back isn't showing any signs of regrowing yet, but on the up side neither are the annoying clump of chin hairs that appeared when I dived into menopause about 5 yrs ago that I normally spend half my life plucking or waxing.. so every cloud and all that 👍

So as the days tick by, each pretty much the same apart from the daily adventure and fair ground ride that are my tastebuds these days, I am plodding my way through a very wet first 2 weeks of February, with nothing really huge to report.

But no news, as we all know, is good news đŸ«€
