Well according to the weather, we are not out of the woods heat wise just yet! With a new prediction of the next heat wave, beginning around the bank holiday at the end of August lasting through the first 2 weeks of September. Until we go on holiday in actual fact! The article I sat 'huffing' over, also stated its been the driest summer since 1836, which doesn't at all surprise me, everywhere is as barren as my uterus!š I'm not sure what the actual function of the tonsils are, but I know they act as a sort of filter, and without them I seem to have been thrown back into my teenage years of chronic hay fever, sneezing, and sinus irritation this summer. I'd like to think its the dust from all the harvesting that going on round and about, and where normally the rain settles the wheat dust within a few days of cutting, and washes it back into the ground, this year it just endlessly floating round in the air and settling on rock hard ground going no where only up my nose. The thing I suppose I have to be thankful for is my lack of downstairs reproduction action hasn't left me with a weakened pelvic floor, and 20 sneezes in quick succession leaves me with only a piles of soggy tissues and not soggy knickers! Lottie went and got de-fluffed last week so she's a lot more comfortable, and days are drifting by in the house doing mundane things like housework, washing, and the occasional weed grab in the garden. How the grass is brown dust on concrete earth but weeds are still growing lush and green in gravel is beyond me.š¤ I actually managed to keep my word to myself, and started listing loads of stuff on ebay that is just basically clogging up the house and garage.
I started off with clothes, at last spare hangers!!!!! But this week to the listings that didn't sell last week I've added a few household items, old crockery from Mum's, some jigsaws, hopefully will raise some money towards our spending money for the holiday.
Money for old rope Paul says. But whatever its out of the house, freeing up space, giving me much needed hanger space, and hopefully some empty spaces on the garage shelves. My mouth has been a bit rubbish these past few weeks, and I'm trying hard to focus on any niggles are just saliva mouth dryness issues and not keep thinking ..... 'what if its back' š«£ Eating has been difficult, again because my mouth is underlyingly sore, so very little swallowing and friction sets it off. I've started using slim fast and warrior protein whey powder drinks as the fortisips are off my radar now. I know I could ask for them, or buy some, but it was really becoming quite an addiction ( years of restrictive eating have made me very habit forming around foods,) so I'm persisting on, and in the third week now with no fortisip vanilla shakes as a comfort blanket. I brought vanilla warrior and slim fast, but I have to say, it doesn't taste the same!š¢ But then lots of stuff is really off at the moment and chemically tasting which again is down to having such a dry mouth because of the weather and heat. Ive ordered a blood test to cover all bases for my own peace of mind rather than trust the GP to do what i want doing its just easier to pay. But I really think time has eventually come that my thyroid disease has caught up with me and they will want to put me on levothyroxine. I know I had hashimotos disease before the radiotherapy and my thyroid struggled to work enough but now basically its totally knackered and I cant see an alternative now. But hey I lasted 10 yrs longer than they wanted. Its just over 3 weeks until we go on holiday and this time it seems very relaxed as basically we went on holiday in April, so no mad rush to make sure we have things, cases, swimsuits, enough clothes etc. I probably won't even pack until a few days before we leave this time, instead of having cases spread out for weeks on the floor of wardrobe room, constantly swapping stuff, and trying to get them to weigh the right amount.
I've realised from going on holiday, both of us, to Santorini and Rome, and me going to Naxos, how little you actually need to take. I'm sure we will have a wonderful time, and it will be very chilled out in a villa compared to staying in a hotel, I cant wait to be able to have a swim whenever I feel like it, that really helped my joints when I was in Naxos. I've just had an alert on my mobile saying it could possible rain in the next couple of hours, so I'm off to sit in the garden with a box of tissues and wait and hope. You never know if it rains enough I might even stop sneezing!
