59. Sniffs and chips

Paul visited his mum last weekend and although I told him to be extra careful, as I'm still battling to regain an functioning immune system after radiotherapy š he has come home, been sniffing constantly all week ( so annoying) and Wednesday night came down with man flu.
Luckily I spend 95% of my time in my bedroom these days, only venturing out to take Lottie for a wee in the garden or when I have a bath or shower.
Not fully eating I've got used to us not eating together, as when I couldn't eat at all it just felt like extreme masochism to sit drinking a nutrition shake whilst watching and smelling him endless M&S meals. šš¤¬ so I haven't even been around him for meals this week.
So luckily, so far, I have no symptoms of having caught what he's kindly brought back from Manchester š¤¬
I managed to go backwards and forwards Addenbrookes for 6 weeks by car, train, taxi and hospital transport, walk through hospital corridors, use hospital toilets, sit for endless hours waiting for treatment or at the hospital pharmacy for medication š and I NEVER picked up anything. He goes to his mother's for less than 48 hrs and come back with the plague.š”
But hey, when you're the one who's dying, I suppose you bother eh?
So yesterday and today life has been back to normal in that Im the one in charge of food, drink, answering the door and toilet breaks for the dogš.
So tonight I deserved some chips. I micro waved Paul some left over sausage ragu and did some chips in the air fryer and although I knew it would make my throat sore, I decided I'd risk it. No vinegar though as my taste is still playing funky tricks with anything acid š¤®
It was nice to eat something normal and they actually tasted like chips.
Ive noticed my mouth has been a little better this week, not so much mucus in my throat and although it feels coated and furry most of the time, even if Ive just brushed my teeth, Im not getting the dryness so often which is a definite improvement.
The skin on my neck has totally gone back to normal, in fact probably better, as its been treated to so much moisturiser.
However Ive noticed my face is really dry each side of my mouth and chin, I'm wondering if its humidifier or just my diet at the moment. So daily/nightly face cream has to be started. Ive never really been a woman to fuss with my skin, Ive never really had to, but I suppose 60 is getting closer and I think even without the recent dose of radiation the fountain of youth is definitely running a bit dry and I need to start giving it a little help.
Its valentines day tomorrow ššš but I can already smell the flowers Im not going to get! š¤£
But hey like Miley says... I can buy myself flowers š
HAPPY VALENTINES š
