super fast update but it needed reporting
I went back to Addenbrookes yesterday, in secret, after being given an super fast follow up appointment to my PET Scan last Tuesday. Absolutely thrilled ( althoguh a little bit of a wobble when they told me it was him as I thought this means its bad) to be seen by the lovely Mr Amen of tonsillectomy fame. So in short.... I no longer have cancer...... Nose throat mouth all checked and cammed whilst he was at it. and totally clear PET scan. He( and I obviously) super super chuffed....
He even smiled when I hinted about being a model patient EVEN with the minimum treatment I had insisted on. He smiled and said he and the MDT group had only been talking baout my case that morning and he had to agree.
So for now, and I realise its a waiting game, Im cancer free everywhere. Just got to keep going every 6-8 weeks for the checks now and like he said after a year is pretty unlikely it will come back but they keep checking you.
I can go on holiday next week without the weight of potential bad news looming. I can't believe it, it feels like its finally over after years. Now to keep getting better
